CONTROLLERS

    OVERVIEW OF OPERATION:
Controllers are a combination of LOR devices and controllers we used on Pink Floyd tours to control stage lighting effects.

Each string of lights is individually powered by an electronic controller box.  Each controller powers up to 16 light circuits or a string of programmable LED lights. Every single led on the led strings can be individually programmed for one of 1000 colors and variety intensities.

The software program sends signals from the computer to all controllers through a dedicated high frequency wireless network and network connections.  Since most control signals are received wirelessly, controllers only need to be plugged into a 120 volt AC outlet.  Each circuit can be set to any level of brightness at a resolution to within 10 thousands of a second.  Lights are synchronized to music by the same software that controls the lights. This allows lighting patterns to be identical for each show.  Attendees listen to the music through their car FM radio.  This reduces disturbances to the neighbors by not playing music outside.

    8-CHANNEL LIGHT CONTROLLER:
The box shown is an 8-channel controller.  Larger units control 16 channels in one box.  The cover is removed to show inside.  Eight separate 120 VAC circuits extend from the bottom.  Each circuit can control up to 25 strings of lights although we usually only connect one string to each circuit.  The small black box is the wireless receiver connected to the controller that accepts control signals from a computer in the house.  Each controller has an electronic identification so it knows which control signals are intended for it when signals are sent from the computer.

    CONTROLLER CIRCUIT BOARD:
The blue network cable shown plugged into the top is attached to an external wireless signal receiver.  The box is weather resistant, so as long as it is mounted off the ground, it is safe from rain & snow.  All external electrical connections are sealed against moisture.
